Mammography
This course is designed to provide the professional community with a cognitive online base of entry-level education in the practice of Mammography.
Mammography Clinical I
This course is designed from the ARRT’s Mammography Clinical Experience Requirements and is designed to assist the radiographer obtain the specific eligibility requirements that must be documented as part of the application for certification and registration process for Mammography. The purpose of the clinical experience requirements is to verify that candidates have completed a subset of the clinical procedures within a discipline. Successful performance of these fundamental procedures, in combination with mastery of the knowledge and cognitive skills covered by the examination, provides the basis for the acquisition of the full range of clinical skills required in a variety of settings as required by the ARRT.
Mammography Clinical II
This course is designed from the ASRT and ARRT’s Mammography Clinical Experience Requirements and is designed if the radiographer did not obtain the specific eligibility requirements from the previous Clinical Experience I and therefore Clinical Experience II must be documented as part of the application for certification and registration process for Mammography. The purpose of the clinical experience requirements is to verify that candidates have completed a subset of the clinical procedures within a discipline. Successful performance of these fundamental procedures, in combination with mastery of the knowledge and cognitive skills covered by the examination, provides the basis for the acquisition of the full range of clinical skills required in a variety of settings as required by the ARRT. This is a continuation of Mammography Clinical I

Mission of Program:
The mission of the Mammography Advanced Certificate is to prepare competent, entry-level mammography technologists who demonstrate clinical excellence, professionalism, and compassionate, patient-centered care.
Certifications and Degrees
Students enrolled in the Mammography Advanced Certificate will have the opportunity to earn a Mammography certificate and qualify for post-primary certification in Mammography through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

What a student can expect from a career in this field:
Mammography is a specialized imaging field focused on the detection, diagnosis, and evaluation of breast disease using low-dose X-ray imaging.
Mammography technologists are responsible for:
• Performing screening and diagnostic mammograms
• Ensuring proper patient positioning and image quality• Providing compassionate patient care, especially during sensitive procedures
• Following strict radiation safety and quality assurance guidelines
• Assisting with interventional breast procedures (such as biopsies)
Mammography technologists play a vital role in the early detection of breast cancer and in improving patient outcomes.
