Thanksgiving Break – 2026

Dorms will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday beginning at 3 PM on Friday, November 20th. They will reopen at 3 PM on Sunday, November 29th (there will be no dining service until Monday, November 30th). Please begin making your plans now for the break.

Please review the housing policy from the Guide to River Living regarding vacation and holiday periods:

  • Students will not be permitted to remain on campus during this time
  • The College does not provide room or meal accommodations during recess periods
  • Residents may leave personal belongings in their assigned rooms over the break
  • Before leaving, all residents are required to:
    • Unplug appliances and electronics, EXCEPT REFRIGERATORS
    • Unplug electric scooters
    • Throw away all trash (students will be fined for any food trash left in the room)
    • Remove perishables from refrigerators
    • Turn off all room lights.

Failure to complete the above steps may result in fines. All rooms will be assessed at the beginning of the break.

We appreciate your cooperation and wish you a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
