Morgan Kreher of Kiln is one step closer to becoming a veterinarian, thanks to her recent early entry acceptance for Mississippi State University鈥檚 program. The Hancock High School student is part of the Middle College program on 91福利鈥檚 Poplarville Campus.
Kreher鈥檚 decision to pursue her lifelong goal of entering veterinary medicine was solidified after attending the 2023 MSU Vet Camp. Since then, she has gained hands-on experience working as a technician at Pet Haven Veterinary Hospital, where she also has learned how a clinic functions. Over the summer, she worked for the MSU Extension Station conducting research on beef cattle. The experience introduced her to the large animal and research side of veterinary medicine.
Kreher is thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the Middle College program and credits Thelma Keith, Middle College Advisor, as being instrumental in making it possible.
鈥淪tarting Middle College at PRCC was very beneficial and rewarding for me,鈥� said Kreher. 鈥淚t helped me learn more about college life, meet new people, and develop a new sense of responsibility.鈥�
As a PRCC Wildcat, Kreher continues to appreciate Keith鈥檚 positive, encouraging attitude, and assistance with providing the best class schedule possible.

With outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills, Morgan stands out as a highly motivated and capable future leader in her field.鈥�
In May, Kreyer will earn her Associate of Arts degree a few weeks before receiving her high school diploma. At PRCC, she has focused on classes to prepare her to transfer to Mississippi State University and earn a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science. After obtaining her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, Kreher plans to either open a clinic or specialize in surgery.
Kreher stays active at her high school as a member of the Beta Club and Vice President of the National Honor Society. She has also volunteered as a coach for baseball and basketball little league teams in Hancock County. At PRCC, she is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Iota Mu Chapter.

Middle College at PRCC聽
The Middle College Program at 91福利 is a school or district-level dual credit/dual enrollment program in which high school juniors or seniors attend a portion of the day at the high school and a portion at PRCC. The program provides the opportunity for high school students to obtain their high school diploma and their Associate of Arts degree simultaneously.聽聽
To participate, a student鈥檚 high school/school district must have signed a Memorandum of Agreement with PRCC. Students applying to Middle College must be entering their junior year of high school with a minimum of 14 Core Carnegie Units, a 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA, have a minimum ACT sub score of 17 in English and 19 in Mathematics, and have an unconditional written recommendation from their high school counselor, principal, or principal鈥檚 designee.
