“I am honored to be recognized by Coast Young Professionals,” said Dr. Breerwood. “Being a mentor means having a true servant’s heart, which is something that’s in all of us. I have the most amazing team at Pearl River. It’s truly humbling to think for one second that someone would nominate me as one of their mentors when all they do is motivate me daily as we work together to change the lives of those we serve.”

Dr. Breerwood operates as a hands-on leader who is approachable and is known for his genuine desire to see others succeed. He possesses a relentless drive for excellence fueled by innovative thinking to create opportunities for growth and transformation within the college and its employees. Since becoming PRCC President in 2017, this drive has resulted in an enrollment increase of 24.81% and the acquisition of more than $50 million for current and future building projects across the three campuses.

“The Coast Young Professionals is a wonderful organization that honors mentors and leaders across the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas,” said Executive Director of Development Foundation/Alumni Association Delana Harris. “We are thrilled to celebrate Dr. Breerwood’s impact as a mentor to so many—both at 91 and among those who have worked with or attended PRCC.
