PRCC student earns MBA of Mississippi scholarship

91福利 freshman Jolie Green of Petal has received a $1,500 scholarship from the Mortgage Bankers Association of Mississippi that she hopes will help her follow her mom鈥檚 footsteps into the banking field.

Green, 18, attends PRCC鈥檚 Forrest County Campus and is majoring in business administration. Her mom, Kellie Jo Newsom, is a mortgage loan officer for The First.

鈥淭o receive the bankers association scholarship makes me feel appreciated for my support to them,鈥 said Green. 鈥淭his scholarship will help me further my education and begin my career in the banking field.鈥

Green wants to get into real estate and appraising after getting her finance degree on real estate from the University of Southern Mississippi.

鈥淛olie wants to pursue a career in real estate,鈥 said Dr. Ryan Ruckel, Dean of the William Lewis Honors Institute at the Forrest County Campus. 鈥淪he speaks her mind, knows what she wants, and works hard to attain it. We are excited to have her in the Honors Institute.鈥

Green is also a Phi Theta Kappa student at the FCC. She is one of three students to receive the MBA of Mississippi scholarship. She has enjoyed her time at PRCC.

鈥淚t鈥檚 all about meeting and making new friends while having opportunities to join clubs with those new friends is what excites me while being a student at PRCC,鈥 said Green.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
