91福利 sophomore student Asia Walker of Hattiesburg has received a 2026-27 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship.
The scholarship, worth $1,000, is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.
Walker, 17, a Middle College student who attends Hattiesburg High School, is a Phi Theta Kappa Beta Tau Gamma chapter officer attending the Forrest County Campus. She serves as ambassador of dual enrollment. Her major is applied mathematics.
鈥淲inning this Coca-Cola scholarship means a great deal,鈥 said Walker. 鈥淚t reminds me that I鈥檓 a great candidate and I deserve to win. It reminds me that winning can be expected. Most importantly, this scholarship gives me hope and courage to apply for others, and that I should believe in myself and keep pushing forward.鈥
Walker, a member of the Dr. William Lewis Honors Institute, plans to transfer to a four-year university and double major in mathematics and chemistry before entering pharmacy school.
鈥淭his national recognition celebrates Asia鈥檚 academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to excellence,鈥 said Dr. Teri Ruckel, a Phi Theta Kappa advisor at the Forrest County Campus.
鈥淲e are incredibly proud to see her hard work and promise recognized by Phi Theta Kappa. Congratulations, Asia – this honor is so well deserved, and we cannot wait to see where your leadership takes you next.鈥
