Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)
91¸£Àû is excited to announce its Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), a key initiative that reflects our dedication to enhancing student learning and success. Developed through collaboration with faculty and staff across the college, this plan focuses on supporting students’ growth holistically, addressing their emotional, social, and occupational wellness. As we prepare to launch this important project in Fall 2025, we invite you to learn more, get involved, and help us create a learning environment where every student can thrive.
What is a QEP?
The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a requirement for accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). It is the college’s responsibility to develop its own QEP, based on key issues identified through institutional assessment. The plan focuses on improving student learning outcomes or the environment that supports learning, in alignment with the institution’s mission. The college is also responsible for implementing, monitoring, and assessing the QEP’s success, with broad-based involvement from various campus constituencies in its development and execution. This self-directed process ensures continuous improvement and supports student success.

91¸£Àû’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Empowering Learners through Holistic Design, is an initiative focused on supporting students’ growth in emotional, social, and occupational wellness. Developed based on valuable insights gathered from faculty and staff across the college, this initiative recognizes the importance of supporting students’ overall well-being.
Beginning in the fall of 2025, faculty will participate in a structured, cohort-based process designed to integrate wellness concepts into the instructional experience. Through continuous support and resources, faculty will learn how to incorporate these concepts, helping students develop essential knowledge and skills that contribute to their success both academically and personally.
To achieve this, the QEP is structured around four key actions—Explore, Reflect, Connect, and Create—that will guide students in engaging with each wellness area throughout their coursework.Â
- Students will explore the dimensions of emotional, social, and occupational wellness.
- Students will reflect on their own emotional, social, and occupational wellness.
- Students will connect each of the three wellness dimensions to course content.
- Students will create personalized strategies for growth in each of the three wellness dimensions.
There are several ways you can get involved in the QEP at Pearl River, which will begin in the fall of 2025 and continue over the next five years. Each year, one cohort of faculty members will participate in this important initiative. While the first cohort is already full, you can join one of the upcoming cohorts or nominate a faculty member, whether adjunct or full-time, who would be a good fit for the program. Your involvement will help ensure the success of the QEP and its positive impact on the student learning environment.
