ADA Accommodation Testing

Students with documented disabilities approved through the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Office must contact the Testing Center at least 48-hours in advance of their scheduled testing appointment. PRCC Testing Centers’ contact information can be found by clickingÌýhere.Ìý By contacting a PRCC Testing Center, the student will verify that the Testing Center can accommodate their needs. Appointment rescheduling or an unexpected wait time may occur if the student does not adhere to the 48-hour contact policy. The 48-hour contact policy will be communicated to the student by the PRCC Disability Services Office.Ìý

Scheduled accommodation appointments may require rescheduling or cancelation if the testing center cannot provide the required/requested accommodations on the date or at the time of the appointment. A testing center proctor will contact the examinee if rescheduling or canceling an appointment is necessary.

Testing Center Policies

  1. Appointments for Face-to-Face/Hyflex Courses must be made 24-hours in advance.
  2. PRCC Testing Centers reserve the right to deny testing to anyone who arrives late for their scheduled appointment or displays disorderly conduct by the person scheduled to test or their companions.
  3. Cell phones and any electronic device that can be used to retrieve or transmit information are not allowed in a PRCC Testing Center.
  4. Watches of any kind are not allowed in any PRCC Testing Center.
  5. Food and drink are not allowed in any PRCC Testing Center.
  6. Headwear, all outerwear (jackets, coats, bulky sweaters), and all hooded garments are not allowed in the PRCC Testing Center.
  7. A valid photo ID is required.
  8. Photos of IDs will not be accepted in any PRCC Testing Center.
  9. Security cameras and computer monitoring software are in use in all PRCC Testing Centers.
  10. Cheating is not tolerated.
  11. PRCC is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
  12. Children are not allowed in the Hancock Campus Library, nor the Testing Center.
  13. PRCC student accounts will be charged a $25.00 fee when a student fails to report for a scheduled appointment, reports an hour or more late for an appointment, or does not cancel or reschedule an appointment prior to the original appointment time.Ìý
  14. Testing fees paid to non-PRCC testing companies may not be refunded if the tester neglects to arrive at the required arrival time which is set by the testing company, or if the tester arrives past the testing company’s late grace period.Ìý Ìý

Online Course Testing Charges

If you do not show up for your online course test appointment and do not cancel or reschedule prior to your appointment, you will be charged $25.00 per missed appointment. You may also be required to reschedule your online class test appointment based on the Testing Center’s hours of operation and the duration of the test.

Important Online Course Appointment Information

All students should schedule an appointment to take a test at least 24 hours in advance. The testing center cannot guarantee a student will be able to test and may deny testing the student if the student chooses to report to the testing center without an appointment or if the student has scheduled a same-day appointment. The decision to deny testing will be based on seat availability, the Testing Center’s hours of operation, and the test duration. Appointments made 24 hours in advance will be given first priority. Students without appointments and those who schedule same-day appointments will wait a minimum of 30 minutes if allowed to test.
